Catharina Kahane is an art historian living and working in Vienna, and since recently also in Greece. In 2012, she co-founded the non-for-profit organisation Echo100Plus, with the goal to raise awareness and funds for Greek NGOs and grass-root organization dealing with the humanitarian and social problems that evolved out of Greece’s dire financial situation.

Once the already struggling country was hit by the so-called Refugee Crisis in 2015, Echo100Plus also began to provide humanitarian aid to the refugees arriving in thousands every day on the Greek islands. Since then, Echo100plus has been engaged in various camps in Greece, but with its ever-growing network of international volunteers, aid efforts and acts of solidarity have by now spread all over Europe.
