Vera Hinterdorfer

“Dignity and Visibility “: Friday, 01. May 10.30am

Due to a neurological illness, the 33-year-old Vera Hinterdorfer is a wheelchair user since birth. Previously, she was a client-advisor for AMS and PVA customers and she also worked as a social companion in a homeless kitchen. Since 3 years she lives in break-down-pension and is now volunteering for the Austrian Poverty Conference.

As an elected representative of the platform “Getting Visible” – an initiative of people experiencing  poverty and exclusion in Austria – she takes part in meetings and working groups of the Austrian Parliament and the Ministry of Social Affairs, as well as in international EU conferences. There she promotes authentic, resource-oriented solutions and makes the concerns and daily challenges of people living with poverty and exclusion visible.
